Going For A Run
Being that I play several sports and attempt to keep myself in shape and healthy, I enjoy running as a way to not lose the conditioning that I have gained for these sports. I enjoy long-distance runs through the woods where I can enjoy the beauty of the surroundings that I have been blessed with. It is a true blessing to have such beautiful country where I live. I live on a 48-acre farm that backs up to winters run as well as a forest. While I am running, it feels like time has not passed, but when I return home I realize that I have been running for quite a while. I lose track of the time that I have been exercising because of the surroundings that make each run enjoyable. The Massive trees, each one older than the last, with their ancient trunks bearing the names of people who carved into them. Each one tells a story of their time on this earth. The sounds of nature help to make the runs interesting as well. The birds sing, and the creek flows, creating a soothing sense of calm even though I have been running up and down hills and my heart rate is high. The beauty of the land, and the ability to enjoy it while taking care of my health help me to disconnect, and lose track of time.
